Fat Chickens.....

Hello everybody,

I spoke to an old farmer from Missouri the other day. During the conversation he started talking about everything going on in the country.  He said, "You know I feel blessed.  None of this really bothers me out here where I live.  The only thing I know about any of it is what I see on TV."  I told him, "Well you are blessed then.  I wish I didn't have to see it on TV either." The farmer said, "I figured out how to take care of that, every time I see anything about people talking nonsense and screaming at each other I go outside and feed the chickens."  I kind of laughed and said. "Has that worked for you?"  He said."Well the chickens have never been fatter and I haven't seen the wife about three weeks...so its working out pretty well."  lol.

I know he was being funny, but there was wisdom in those words.  Yes, we watch the 24/7 news coverage and podcast and social media posts, we let all of that anger and hostility into our lives.  But if we turn it off, walk away and invest that time in serving God, being together with our families, in working on our to do lists...feeding the chickens. Then even though the winds of craziness blow all around us, we can live in peace and happiness.....and maybe our chickens will be fatter than ever.   May God Bless you and surround you in JOY!!!

No better time than today!!

Hello,

My name is John Miller and I want to welcome you to my blog.  I have been wrestling with the idea of starting a blog for a couple of years now.  I have so many amazing friends on Facebook and they have been encouraging me to do this for a long time.  I think it is mostly so I will quit blowing up their news feeds with my long posts about God and the thoughts I have during the day, plus my nature photos that I enjoy so much.  But whatever their motivations, I love my family and friends so much and would have never started this without them.  Furthermore, I would like to stat for the record that is purely coincidence that I decided to finally start my blog immediately after my son Ryan started his.  God simply used Ryan to gently nudge me into action.  Because sometimes.....I do need a loving kick in the backside to get me moving.    So, what can you expect in my blog?  Well, you have heard of observational comedy? I like to think of what I do as "Observational Ministry." Throughout my day I usually see something or hear something or otherwise experience something that relates to God and how He works in our everyday lives.  Hence, "My Daily God."  Because if there is one thing I have learned in this life, it is that God is the God of our every day.  So I will be sharing what the Holy Spirit brings to my attention, hopefully with some humor and with some insight that might help you in your every day.
